We’re all very happy for you, Chris. You worked hard to get your social-media-job-search-and-pet-supply-store startup off the ground, and now it’s getting a lot of attention. That’s great. You have every right to be proud. Nobody here is going to hold that against you. Nor are we going to frown at a few impulse purchases and lifestyle upgrades. The new couch is lovely and so comfortable. It really compliments the cement floors and exposed brick of your new loft apartment.
But, Chris, throwing away your plates and using Motorola XOOMs? That’s a bit excessive.
We’re just here to have dinner and celebrate your success. We want to raise our glasses to you and eat the delicious, grass-fed, certified organic steaks that you purchased and prepared. We don’t want to finish our meal and find, lo and behold, our plate’s 10.1-inch screen is playing a 720p HD video of you throwing bills in the air and dancing to a song that we’ve never heard before, a song about yourself that you have clearly paid to have written and recorded, a theme song, if you will.
No Chris, we will not direct our comments downwards towards our XOOMs and express them to you via Google Talk. You’re right here at the table, Chris. We don’t need to connect to your Wi-Fi and look into the 2 megapixel front-facing camera to interact with you. And no, Chris, we will not blow off steam by wiping the grease from the XOOM’s screen and loading some shoot-em-up video game. Are you even listening to us?
