Read this before buying!

I loved the idea of a Wi-Fi blanket and I got this on sale. I was upset at first because the Wi-Fi function didn’t work and I emailed the RH Sleep customer service at (customerservice@royalheritagehome.com) and let them know about the issue and they required proof of purchase and sent me new controllers and now it works! You do need to have a 2.4 Wi-Fi connection which for us is no biggie because we have one we only use for the ring cameras. But definitely worth the purchase now that it’s fully functional.

Worthless - do not buy

I was unable to connect the product to my WiFi through the app. Note that the app is not provided by Eddie Bauer, it is provided by Royal Heritage Home, LLC. Eddie Bauer does not warranty or provide any support for this product. The app is simple enough and like many other smart home products you create a login, connect to the product's own un-secured wifi and then connect to your home wifi. It should be that simple. With this product though it just doesn't work. Each time I tried I got one of 3 errors: 1) request timed out, 2) invalid byte string or 3) product only support 2.4Ghz wifi. My wireless router supports (and has enabled) both a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi band. I specifically connected this product to the 2.4Ghz. After that failed repeatedly, I disabled the 5Ghz band on my router. Same results. I then requested a replacement from Amazon and experienced the same issues. With the replacement I even set up a second wifi network which only supports 2.4Ghz and tried connecting using an old tablet that also only supports 2.4Ghz and has no mobile data service. Still no luck with either product. Doing a bit more research I found that Royal Heritage opted for a very cheap low quality wifi chip for this product which has a history of poor performance. I wasn't able to find any info on the app developer but I assume its on the same level of quality as the wifi chip. I guess this is why the product is selling for $25 even with the Eddie Bauer name on it. Unfortunately without the connection to wifi you can only use this product by plugging it in, which does turn on the heat, and then un-plugging it to turn it off. No control over the actual heat level. Both are items are on their way back to Amazon. Very disappointing that Eddie Bauer would put out such a low quality item.
