Still going strong over 3 years later

Purchased this refurbished in June 2020 because at the time it seemed to be the top-of-the-line when it comes to routers. Still seems to be that way in Sept. 2023. I paired this with a Netgear 1Gig cable modem with 1Gig down/50 Mbps up cable internet service. Upload is faster than stated, but 1Gig download is usually in the 920's, which is kinda par for the course for 1 gig service. From day 1 this router has performed flawlessly as my home router. Centrally located, this router covers my 3,000 sq ft bi-level home and 1/4 acre property with no dead spots. I have almost 30 devices connected including Apple laptops, iPhones, iPads, TV's, receivers, printer, security cameras, garage door opener, thermostat, game systems, washer/dryer, and more, some hard-wired with ethernet, others on the 2.4 or 5 GHz band. It handles all of it with no slowdowns. I have a pretty basic set-up with just one SSID (no guest network). This router was easy to configure with the smartphone interface or the web browser interface. I have yet to try the USB 3 hard drive storage but may some day. Not sure why others report random disconnects, I've never experienced that. Only negative I can think of is the Netgear Armor security requires a subscription. After spending hundreds on this router, I'd prefer that to be included ... I hate being nickeled and dimed. But I've not needed the Armor security, so it doesn't make this router any less than a 5-star product. The only other con would be the high cost for this router. I highly recommend this Netgear router for the maximum in Wi-Fi speed and reliability. You can't go wrong with Netgear products. I've installed Netgear modems and routers for friends and family and never had any issues.

Router and iPhone app weren’t friendly
By Stephanie Collins on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2021
***5 month update*** Don’t buy this router. It constantly has connection issues and not worth the $300 I spent. I am extremely disappointed in Netgear ****Another moment of frustration. Not a month later and the router has stopped working. No updates needed. If I could connect all my times to my modem, I’d have internet. About to go that route. Netgear, YOU SUCK. WASTe of money, don’t bother. Setting up the router proved more difficult than I thought. My phone would not find the router but thankfully my iPad and phone are linked and so after downloading the app to my phone and changing back to the old router, I was able to get my iPad and router to talk. Once that was done, all worked well. It took me about 20 minutes to rethink on how to solve the issue.
