45% Pure Vinegar - Concentrated Industrial Grade

The product is great at killing weeds at a 1:1 dilution! The SDS for the product indicates that the only ingredient is vinegar at 45 %. However, there is more here than just vinegar and water. The product straight out of the bottle is a clear solution as shown in the first photo. When diluted, the solution immediately turns cloudy [second photo] and there is the appearance of a slightly yellow oily layer on top of the solution. The layer becomes more noticeable after sitting for 12 hours [third photo]. I received no response from the manufacturer on these observations. Belle Chemical also sells products to oil and gas producers. Acetic acid [concentrated vinegar], with additives, is used in oil and gas well stimulation treatments. Response via Amazon Due to the corrosive nature of vinegar, we have to keep our equipment lubricated with a vegetable oil to prevent rust and corrosion buildup. It may have been the system was not completely purged prior to start-up and there was residual oil. We also use a food grade silicone lubricant periodically for some moving parts. The oily residue that you see is most likely a remnant of the oils used to lubricate the machines and that gallon was probably one of the first through on that production run.
