Congrats, Greenworks! This is one of the best Amazon purchases I've made.

11/9/23: end-of-season, 2023 and this thing is still kicking my entire lawn's butt with my original batteries. Couldn't ask for more! I purchased this in late 2017, used it briefly that year and then throughout both the 2018 and 2019 cutting seasons. I've used the same 4.0 and 2.0 a/h batteries during this time. I intentionally waited to provide a review and can say that this unit has performed like a champ throughout. Bag looks small but holds a good deal of cuttings, and is good for gathering light leaf coverage. Mower is super-quiet, super-light and super-maneuverable. Mulching attachment works well and the fold-up, out-of-the-way storage is excellent. No maintenance other than cleaning. SO nice not having to deal with gas, oil or annual ICE maintenance. My two peeves: one, it's extremely difficult to get a grip on the 4.0 a/h battery when removing, especially while wearing work gloves (I wrap a paracord loop around it before installation so I can just pull that to get it out); two, although the bag itself is still perfectly intact after LOTS of heavy use, the strap handle on the back of the leaf bag tore loose after about a year. Yard is almost 1/2 acre, with lawn on about 3/4s of that. I can do everything with a 4.0 and 2.0 a/h battery. Sometimes I only need the 2.0 a/h to finish up the last few square feet. Folks giving poor reviews due to battery life may be either mowing very thick/high grass (so that the motor is always running at the HIGH speed) or just walking really slowly. Can't say. Personally, I've never had an issue with battery life even when I let things go for a few days longer than I should. Plus, I don't baby this thing. The ground on our property is very uneven and this thing takes a light beating every time it's used due to the bouncing. It has held up to that surprisingly well. With what I've saved on mowing service these past couple years, if the thing stopped working tomorrow I'd just order another one. I've since purchased and used the 40v leaf blower, pole hedge trimmer and string trimmer - all of which have performed well relative to my rather high expectations.

GREENWORKS DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY
By DJBA on Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2018
I use and love several 40v cordless tools from Greenworks. My 4 year old 40v mower finally died, so I decided to just buy it again since manf. warranty was expired. Only they have a newer "equivalent" model. It arrived with only one battery terminal, but if it still worked with one, I'm not going to lose any sleep. My first mow (feb '18) it struggled, but I gave it a long leash since the lawn base was damp. I used it in dry conditions this last weekend and it failed miserably. Not only did it constantly cut power on medium length grass, it is nearly impossible to remove the battery from the one terminal they installed. Figuring they forgot to install the 2nd terminal and I paid for the "Square Trade" coverage, I thought I was safe to send this back a little past the 30 day return window. NOPE. Square Trade said Greenworks should still cover it. So I call Greenworks to report an obviously faulty mower that I bought to replace an old model that worked just fine. THEY FLAT OUT REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. Arguing that the 2nd terminal was "probably" on purpose and that I shouldn't cut it on wet grass (even though I reminded him that the 2nd mow was bone dry med length grass - not to mention the previous mower had NONE of these issues). I even offered to pay a restocking fee and buy their top-line mower. Apparently this is the quality that they are willing to stand by. They just lost a life-long customer.
