Magnesium L Threonate Capsules, promising signs
By Elisa on Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2025
I received the order in very timely manner. I am happy about that. Since the product came just a day ago, I can't fully evaluate the benefits yet, but what is this Magnesium L Threonate Capsules (Magtein) – High Absorption Supplement – Bioavailable Form for Sleep and Cognitive Function Support known for, seem to be noticed to some degree already. I am going to update the benefits rating after some more time.

Good Product But Need A Large Number of Capsules to Meet the Recommended Daily Value!
By MWL on Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2023
Magtein is a great form of magnesium threonate because it easily passes through the brain's barrier for better absorption. It also has less laxative effect than others and is less sedative than magnesium glycinate, which is really best for nighttime as glycine is known for its calming and sedative effect.A woman needs 320 mg (DV) of elemental magnesium a day and men 420 mg (DV). Of course, we get some from our diet, but given the very poor quality of western food, most people are actually magnesium deficient. Ignore the 2000 mg or 5000 mg on labels because they are advertising only the amount of raw magnesium used. Do not be sidetracked by all of these companies who label their products with these high mg amounts. It is elemental magnesium that is the important number because the daily value needed is based on that figure and not the thousands of mg of base magnesium they state! In fact, most companies don't even list the amount of elemental in their products and many won't give it or they tell you the elemental is a percentage per gram of the raw magnesium weight. Seriously? As for this product, they do list it so kudos to them. Unfortunately, not everyone reads the label or understands that it is the elemental amount that matters. The elemental magnesium content in this product is only 144mg for the full 4 capsules. Which is fine if you take it as a sleep aid (again you are better off using magnesium glycinate) or just to boost your own magnesium. For those supplementing with a higher amount to get that full daily value, do the math on how many you need. For a woman to get her DV of elemental magnesium she needs to take 9 pills and men a whopping 11. Which means each bottle has only 11 servings for a woman and 9 for a man!If, like me, you are taking a medication that strips the body of magnesium, you will need higher doses. I take 400 twice a day so need 18 pills per day. This bottle only lasts me 5 1/2 days. Who can afford that? So, I take another brand with a higher amount of elemental magnesium and add 3 capsules (48 mg) of these per day to get the benefits of the magnesium threonate.Bottom line, this is a great product and a wonderful form of elemental magnesium. But only for those who need a small amount each a day. If you need more, then this is a very expensive product.I hope this helps those who are as confused as I was about the differences between each type of magnesium and how important it is to know the actual amount of elemental magnesium in each product. Thank you for reading this!
