Just as Advertised and Just What You Would Expect From a Manual Pump
By Mark Ruscitti on Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2022
Ordered it yesterday and it arrived today. On first use it worked perfectly. Pumped up my bike tires to 80 psi from about 20 in 6 pumps. Of course the last two got more difficult as the pressure raised in the tires. This is as you would expect from a hand pump. The higher the pressure in the tire, the more pressure you need to provide on the down stroke to add additional air. It just makes sense, but reading reviews from other people, they don't seem to grasp that concept. the dial on the pressure gauge is easy to read and that is an added bonus. On the down side the handle and base are plastic, although it seems sturdy. Only time will tell how well the pump will hold up. But comparing to what is on the market today, I think that this is an excellent pump for the money. I wish it were made in America instead of China however.

you will need strength to use this pump!

The laws of physics state that the more air volume you move, the more power it will take. While the marketing of a larger capacity pump looks appealing, if you are the one doing the arm work to provide the air, be sure you understand it takes more strength to push larger amounts of air in one up and down stroke compared to other air pumps that are smaller capacity. You don't need to be a gym rat to use this pump, but if you have any type of weak joints, bad wrists, arm injury, etc. be warned it takes a bit of strength to use this pump when you get beyond about 30 PSI. A smaller capacity pump will get you to your desired air pressure, that is less exhausting, but more time. The comparison is you need to ascend stairs to go up one story, and your choice is one set of stairs with 30 steps, the other set of stairs has 60 steps. Both will have you end up at the same place, but it's a lot more work to go up 30 stairs vs 60, however less time. Also I noticed when the weather is cold in my garage and I use this air pump, it makes some type of friction noise on the inside that does not sound good. When warmed up it seems to go away. I have not had this problem in the past with other pumps I store in the garage.
