Great monitor and how I fixed resolution issue being stuck in 1024 x 780p
By Matt on Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2017
First time with a curved monitor. I had difficulty getting my Xbox and computer to recognise that this is a 32" screen with 1080p resolution... It was stuck at 1024x780p resolution. I'll leave some photos of what I did to get the 1080p resolution, and describe the process after my review of the product. So, I love the monitor. I'm a huge samsung fanboy, and I was not disappointed at all with this product. The screen is really bright, but it's not terrible. After I fixed it, the picture is sharp, the screen works great, and it even has VESA mounts. The curved part is even cool too, because you feel like you can reach right in the screen and touch the characters in games. Really cool experience. I would definitely recommend. And from the seller I bought from, they even went the extra mile to try to help me fix the resolution issue I was having on my end. So, the resolution issue. Here's how I fixed it: 1) I went to the samsung website (in the photo) and downloaded the "ver. 1.0, MULTI LANGUAGE" and then restarted my computer (as recommended by seller). 2) After that failed, I opened up NVIDIA control panel (you can get there with a right click on your desktop and then look for the control panel in the right click menu), and then I went to Change resolution > Customize > Create Custom Resolution and then used the numbers in the second photo. Although I believe you have to change it to manual for timing to edit those numbers at the bottom. I'm not sure how you can change it with other motherboards, but that's how I did it. The seller I bought from tried very hard to help me, and I even called samsung to try and fix the resolution issue, but it was an issue with my cpu recognizing this monitor. Very strange. It still isn't recognized as a samsung monitor. Just "Digital Display." And it's even saying it's plugged in via DVI, when it's hooked up with an HDMI cable... lol

Hoping this reaches potential buyers of this monitor, or those who are on the fence for which monitor they want to buy. I stressed about which one to purchase for about 1-2 weeks, and now I feel the need to share my experience to help your decision. Here’s my honest review: I am giving this 3 stars. The reason for the 2-star-deduction is simply because of how poor the resolution/quality is, compared to the brand/design of the monitor. You'd think that a sleek, 32 inch, SAMSUNG brand monitor will delivery impeccable image quality - but I was wrong. Quite disappointed actually. Even worse was that I searched “4k monitor” in Amazon, and this was in the search results, so I assumed the search wouldn’t have screwed me over – but it did. BEWARE: Even if you search for an item with a certain keyword, please make sure to confirm once more that the keywords are in the LISTING ITSELF. Anyway, back to the quality problem: I noticed this FIRST thing when I turned my new computer on (which had a stock HD image from Windows, which I use to check monitor qualities). IMMEDIATELY, I noticed a slight blur in the edges of objects in the picture - it was as if I google searched an image, and it didn’t fully load so it was a bit choppy - but obviously, this was as good as it was gonna get. I kept using the monitor for another day or so, hoping to start ignoring these quality flaws, but I couldn’t stop noticing it. HOWEVER, I must say that gaming and movies looked good (not great). You will notice major flaws when watching something and there’s a scene of just blackness - then you will see the true blockiness. Anyway, I'm rambling but you need to know that with a large 32 inch monitor like this, the picture quality WILL be compromised simply due to the FACT that the resolution is only 1920x1080 - monitors of this size need much more resolution to have clearer quality – its simply a matter of fitting pixels into a larger screen. Therefore, I have initiated a return on this item, and will be getting a slightly smaller monitor with higher resolution. This is where the true crisp, impeccable image quality will come from. Its a shame that such a sexy monitor delivers such poor quality. FYI - this does NOT include speakers, even though there's an input in my sound devices showing the monitor as an output? Anyway, good monitor for those who dont care about quality and care more about looks. Hope this helps, friends.
