The Best Oil-Free Mineral Sunscreen on the Market Right Now
By Monica on Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2025
I scoured the internet for a mineral sunscreen with good spf and no oils or coconut-derived ingredients (my skin is sensitive and breaks out badly with these). I landed on this one finally! It’s pricey but worth it if you want a good mineral sunscreen. It takes a while to blend it in before it dries down and it takes a couple minutes to dry down so I wouldn’t use this if I was in a hurry. It is silicone based so if you apply it immediately after your skincare routine you might experience peeling and pilling which happened to me at work the first time I used it! As a primer it blurs your skin pretty well. It plays nicely with my makeup so I’d probably use this on days I wear foundation rather than as an every day sunscreen since it’s a little on the expensive side for the quantity of product. A little goes a long way but you’re supposed to use a two finger amount-I’m not sure how well you could blend that in. The white cast goes away eventually once it dries for me but I might try the tinted one instead next time bc it would probably be easier to apply. It has a nice satin finish-not too oily or matte and doesn’t cling to any skin texture.

Not for my skin
By Skyrocketocelot on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2024
My skin is sensitive and olive/tan and not too dry or oily with a little bit of rosacea. I bought it because I wanted a mineral-based face sunscreen for outdoor use that I could wear nothing with or just put powder over.Pros:I like the texture/feel, I like the thicker consistency that is still spreadable. My skin feels soft and not greasy after application. It doesn’t seem to cause a skin reaction or redness, even if I’m hot/sweating. The bottle quality is good. Decent price point.ConsNot for my skin - I can see a faint white cast even after blending in, especially in my hairline, it doesn’t seem to matter how well I tap it in, it still sits around my hair follicles. Also not a huge fan of the feel of putting foundation on top - it feels too heavy. It’s ok if I use just powder on top but it also looks a bit chalky and powder settled in my little wrinkles pretty easily. My least favorite part is that it pills badly if I get sweaty, it looks like my skin is post-sunburn and peeling. If you don’t sweat in it and like a smooth, silky, thicker feel to your sunscreen primer (maybe nothing but powder or bb cream/something light on top), this might be for you.
