fantastic temperature and humidity monitors, easy to install and use if you can plug bridge into a router.

very nice idea. i have 3 sets installed in friends houses to monitor their temps in case of a boiler malfunction while they are away. easy to install (don't forget to register the bridge by pushing register button 4-6 seconds only), and they you go to their website and download their software and put in the mac address on the bottom of the bridge. voila! you can see their 3 sensors. You can install up to 3 sensors for each bridge,. you can then label each one remotely from your own computer and set colors and alarm parameters. it will email you and send a text if any of the sensors go over or under the alarm levels. once you install the sensors and bridge wherever you want them, all settings are done from your computer. I have 3 bridges with 3 sensors each showing on my computer screen at the same time. It is a great system. REMEMBER that you have to connect the bridge directly by ethernet cable to a router with active internet connection. this is very important, as otherwise you will have nothing. they have been a huge help in monitoring temperature. I even have a sensor installed out back in my Sauna to see when it is hot, tho the sensor only registers up to 158 degrees or so. sensors will sent to the bridge quite a way - maybe 200 feet or so. I am VERY pleased with cost, ease of install, functionality, and even customer service when i called with a question.

My hub ceased to function about a month in. I've been trying to figure out how to ask for a replacement. Maybe this is how? Setting up the thermometers is a pain, they are completely anonymous in the list. Even more so when you have multiple hubs. Because they are anonymous in the list you can't tell which ones are already associated with a hub. They need to have the user labels from the thermometers on the list with discovery. And show which ones belong to a hub already. Why the limit of 10 devices for a hub? Seems very artificial. I'm afraid this is the best system out there, but that doesn't mean it's any good.

Slow, but solid.

Works well enough, but I don't know if I'd buy it again if I could do over. Website is slowwwww to update temperature, and is incredibly non-intuitive to get set up. Can't comment on Android as I have only use iOS app, which hasn't seen an update for a long time... Programmers must have perfected the thing two years ago, right? Not really. It crashed about a dozen times before staying lit on iPhone 6. Worked better on 4 and 4s (which were current about the time it was updated) and iPad Air2. Once it's set up, it seems solid and runs fine for the most part. Definite step up over shining a flashlight to the deck door to see the thermometer mounted outside 😳
Personalizing the names of each sensor with the location name was very easy and straightforward

I had some concerns about this purchase based on some reviewers comments about problems linking to the AcuRite servers. However, in my case everything worked very well. I connected the smarthub to my router, and setup my online account per the instructions. I was immediately able to see the temperature and humidity readings from my 2 indoor sensors, in the dashboard view on the AcuRite servers. The outside sensor took a little more time to sync but that wasn't a problem for me. Personalizing the names of each sensor with the location name was very easy and straightforward. The next day I installed the app on my iphone and logged into my account and immediately had the temperature and humidity readings from all 3 sensors. Bottom line I'm thrilled with the functionality of the smarthub and the user interfaces. Time will tell how the sensors reliability, accuracy, and reliability play out over time. I very seldom give a 5 star rating but this one is well deserved.
Works as advertised however setup/activation needs some work

Since I’m anal about researching items before I buy them, I researched the AcuRite and sensors before purchasing. I wanted to monitor the indoor temperature in the house while I am out. After reviewing customer responses, I put batteries in the sensors before starting any configuration. The setup went well and I think having the sensors enabled helped. I agree with customers that instructions are vague. I was waiting for downloads/updates on the unit but could tell if they were done according to AcuRites instructions. After waiting 2 hours I assumed updates were done (lights blinking/solid on their instructions were no help determining if finished). The Hub found all the sensors however as another customer commented, you don’t know which one to use. I wanted one in the basement, one in the main house and one outside. Took me a few hours to figure out which temperature was related to that sensor. I did have to do a reset a few times for the sensors to show the actual reading. Since a few were off, I tried to adjust (calibrate) on the web site. It never took. I deleted those and added them again (removed batteries before) with the calibration I wanted. They then displayed correctly. All is working now and thru a few adjustments mentioned above it is working. I also previously had an AcuRite 5 in 1 outdoor unit and it found that as well. So now I can see all the house including the outdoor 5 in 1 unit. Considering all the other options out on the market, this seems to be working for me. I hope not to experience failure in the system in a few months like others have reported. Thus far the unit is working as I wanted and I can view this from the downloaded app on my phone and tablet.
Way overpriced and pretty basic

Initial setup isn't too hard but the instructions are missing key information like the fact that the tower will automatically connects and appears on the website after the bridge is setup. The website is pretty basic but works and you can see your data there. You have to put batteries in one tower then go online an name it then batteries on the next and name that one and so on to not get the different towers confused. The app does not work. It simply won't connect to wherever it's supposed to get the data from. The item itself seems to work with semi accurate results although may be slow to update online. Also, I do not like that you have to register it with a street address, but I do like that the website has graphs of the temperature at different time periods Edit: about one week in and the humidity sensor on one of the towers is not accurate. registers as 1% when two other types of monitors that are accurate register the humidity at 42%.
Just about dead on arrival

I ordered the AcuRite 3 sensor temperature and humidity instrument because it was exactly what I wanted and it promised email capability from the sensors. The control unit and sensors came within Amazon's reliable two days Prime shipping. I turned on the unit and registered with AcuRite's server. There are two blue lights that they call sensor lights. The instructions are unclear about where these lights are located. I couldn't find them until until I saw that after a delay they began illuminating on the sides of the unit. They were blinking and that was supposed to be the way they worked until they turned solid and then you were connected through the internet. I watched them until I saw they were both on and fully solid. Turned my head and suddenly there were no lights lit. I tried removing the power and reattaching it, to no avail. Pulled out the internet cable and reattached it, to no avail. The unit was completely dead; it never did connect as it was supposed to. No problem, I would call technical support. So, basically, I thought that I could work with their support to probably send the control unit back for a replacement (and take the chance that that a replacement unit may not result in one that worked) or I could send the whole thing back to Amazon. Called the first wats number on the instruction sheet packaged with the control unit and the recording said the number was disconnected. Okay so I found a different phone number on the instruction sheet from the sensor and called it. A recording came on and said that their phone support was not working because of a server problem. (really?) So, I could not get past the recorded message. Called again later in the day and received the same response. The third call was the same and it became my last, because I gave it up in frustration. I decided that technical support would not be of help because it didn't seem to exist and the unit was too far gone to fool with, so I sent it back to Amazon for a refund. I had the unit for just less than1/2 day. My experience was not good, yours may be better, but I doubt it. Take heed in the negative reviews other have given this product. It's offering a lot of technology in a package that is cheaply made without any quality control. I doubt if anyone ever tested this unit when it came off the assembly line. If you can get it to work without technical support your are lucky, but don't trust your luck on this one. To my way of thinking, there is no excuse for saying your support system is not working.
Yes, you can use it on wireless internet (see below)

I was able to use the system on my wireless internet by adding this device: NETGEAR N300 Wi-Fi Range Extender, Essentials Edition (EX2700). The range extender has an ethernet port that you can plug the bridge into. I'm not a tech pro, but was able to get it working without much trouble by following the directions provided with each device. I bought this to monitor my motorhome and its fridge and freezer. I have always been afraid to leave our dogs inside it for very long on hot days, because sometimes the A/C ices up. So this solves my the concern over that and also whether the food inside the fridge is still ok after a hot day of travel. With my Verizon broadband card and the wi-fi range extender, I can monitor everything on the go. BUT once I got it all set up, I decided the more pressing use was to monitor the temperature back at our house (and in our home fridge and freezer) while we are away. So I'm planning to leave this system set up at home and get a second system for the motorhome.
Mediocre app and limited history make it disappointing for me

Mixed feelings on this. Mostly based on poor software (ie, they should be able to fix it). I bought this to monitor internal temperature and humidity to deal with some issues inside the house. So I wanted to be able to monitor and compare multiple sensors, and see how different sensors compare over time. The good: - Easy to set up - Easy to add additional sensors - You can export the data. Although only up to 31 days. The bad: - The app is clunky. Not easy to navigate, only lets you see one sensor at a time. - Only 31 days of data available. Really? There are options in the app to show a year and lifetime data, but they just show a blank screen and a message that 31 days is the max. This kind of data shouldn't require much storage, seems like 6 or better 12 months would be a more reasonable minimum. - Frequent disconnects. My house isn't huge, but I frequently have various monitors drop in and out. Have played a little with where I put the hub, but since the hub is wired only I don't have that many options. That said, it is pretty much in the middle of all the sensors, so it is in a pretty good place. But still I have problems with some of the sensors dropping offline. - I've seen other reviews that say their phone support is good. However, I prefer email support, which they don't have. All in all, I wouldn't recommend, and probably wouldn't buy again. If they stored the data for more than 31 days, and put some more effort into their app, I'd probably raise it to 4 stars, since then I could overcome the issues by downloading the data. Having to download every month though is a pain.
Documentation needs work and unit requires manual intervention after power outage

FIRST REVISION I have had the unit for a few weeks and went through our first power outage which revealed an major flaw: POWER OUTAGES REQUIRE MANUAL INTERVENTION. I have now had the device for a few weeks and went through our first power outage. When the power came back on the unit came up with the right hand blue light flashing. The only cure is to power the unit off, press the reset button on the bottom (I held it for a few seconds seconds), and then re-apply the power. We want the unit to monitor our home while we travel over the winter. I am going to put it on a UPS system and hope that the unit will stay powered up. a) SETUP: 1: you have to enable at least one sensor to get the hub recognized by the web application. Literally spent hours waiting for the lights to stop blinking. After searching on the web a user stated that the you had to install batteries in a sensor before the web site application will recognize your hub. The installation sheet does not tell you that. It said that the lights would stop blinking and then you could complete the setup. After six hours of a blinking light, I installed batteries in one sensor and seconds later the lights on the hub went solid and the web application allowed me to setup the system and add the other two sensors. 2: sensors have to be upright or range is significantly reduced. When I was trouble shooting a bad sensor (see below) I set the second sensor horizontal and got no connectivity. b) SENSORS: 1: as other users have stated, the sensors are not very well calibrated. This is not a fifty cent sensor, they should read +/- 1 degree IMO. 2: one sensor that read 70 degrees inside went to -40 degrees when I put it outside when it was appox 50 degrees. brought sensor back inside and it returned to 70 degrees. I will test it again tonight. If it is bad I will have to find out if the vendor will want to send a replacement sensor or if I have to return the whole unit. Assuming that I get a good sensor I would recommend this unit since it seems to work, I can add sensors and can even buy a range extender so I can monitor my barn.
