This is a great little machine and works well in some scenarios. If you are hoping to clean an entire carpeted house with it then be ready to spend many hours on that project and be ready to refill it with clean water after each room (as well as emptying the dirty water) because it doesn't hold very much in the tank. It's also very small which makes it easy to move around and store away but that means it takes many passes on carpet to get it clean (it's about a foot wide so that's your cleaning width per pass that you make).It does NOT come with the hand cleaning tool so you won't be cleaning stairs or furniture so I would suggest buying that for another $90 or so. I was hoping to use this mainly for spot cleaning and keeping the heavy traffic areas clean. Turns out that it's not bad for spots but not great either so those are probably best done by hand. But it is really good at keeping the carpet clean in heavy traffic areas. We have very new carpet (6 months old) and we don't wear shoes in the house and I was amazed at what it got out of the carpet.It comes with a bottle of oxy cleaner which works well but for maintenance cleaning just plain hot water works great and is a better green way to go. We read that using vinegar in the water may be a bad idea as many carpet manufacturers use vinegar to set the color and thus using vinegar in the water cleaning solution can un-set the color in your carpet.
