Unusually well constructed , but Not Squirrel Proof
By bye bye on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2014
LINK TO KENROY HOME DESCRIPTION: http://www.kenroyhome.com/pages/product_pages/60506.html Pro: High Quality Solar Panel All connectors well constructed, screw type with rubber O rings. Ample cord between lights. Currently have 3 sets of 10 each lamps , strung along Decking Rail. Quite bright, and cast light down onto the decking floor. With an occasional wiping of the Solar panel (to remove pollen and dust) all 3 light strings stay on well into the night. Con: Required 60509 12 foot Extension cord, to move Solar Panel to a full sun area. Could not find at Amazon. Minor complaint: Birds like to roost on the Panels .. moving them into a vertical position ..... as ball joint at top of stake is rather loose. Will consider inserting a piece of "Teflon pipe thread tape" between ball and socket. (Alternative may be to get a cat ) Mounting stake, designed for ground (earth) mount only. Necessary to drill an appropriate hole into a wood extender, for Deck Rail mounting. A metal or plastic clamp could be included for "above ground" mounting of Solar Panel.... e g on decking rails or posts. FOLLOW-UP: Unusual Problem: A squirrel chewed off a LED Lamp, about half-way down the string of lights, and then proceeded to dine on the Lamp, on a deck chair. The preceding 5 lamps still operate. Fortunately, individual strings of 10 lamps , without the solar panel are available , as part number 60508.

Not A Long Term Solution To Deck/Stair Tread Lighting
By David Fogle on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2018
This is a long term (2.5 years in service) review of the product. I have been using solar-based accent lighting, in various aspects, since 1998. I have several solar lights that are currently in service from that time (battery changes with standing). The issue that has plagued all of failed lights is the photo sensor, the electronic device that turn lights on at night and off during the day. My Kenroy lights suffered a failure of the photo sensor after approximately 2.5 years of service. Unfortunately, Kenroy does not sell replacement panels. This is a huge negative, especially considering the fact that all the manufacturers know the photo sensor is highly prone to failure. If you install the lights in a deck or in stair treads, that means you will have to remove and replace the string. That is a negative, as well. In summary, the Kenroy product is middle of the road when it come to reliability. I'm also disappointed that there are no replacement parts (solar panels, etc.). If you need something long term, consider a low voltage lighting system.
