No, this is not a professional studio light, but if you want adequate illumination of a subject or a scene up to 15+ feet away, this is your light. I find the build quality to be sturdy, which is typical for Sunpak products. Also it is compact and lite in weight, will easily fit in your pocket or your gadget bag. It is amazing to me, what people expect for $30.00!

Handy in a pinch. Not as adjustible as I would like but is very portable and I can just alter the brightness by adjusting how I hold my hand over the light. Sounds pretty Mickey Mouse but it works pretty well in a pinch.

This thing is bright! I wanted something for my DSLR so I can conduct interviews for my documentaries. I recommend that you carry rechargeable batteries with you if you use it for long shoots.

The build quality is below average. The light quality is also about average, not that strong and tight spot only. If you adjust it to become wide, you will have dark area in the middle. Good for rare usage or as novelty gift. Note that amazon sells them for quite high price, and they often go on sale in local stores. Recently I've picked up a box (12 pcs) of these for just $9.99 total. For that price, sure this is a steal and must have.
