An exceptional massager! Compact but strong. Definitely worth its bargain price
By M. Hauck on Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2012
I've owned so many back massagers over the years, I can't even count them! From kneading massagers to kneading pillows to percussive massagers to those neck scarves that vibrate to professional strength TENS units ... I've used them all so I was skeptical when I saw this little guy in Amazon but for the simple reason that it was the only one I've never purchased before ... and because I could see it was small ... I purchased it. Wow was I surprised! This little guy packs quite a punch. The Prosepra is strong ... the kneaders themselves are just the right size (not so small that they dig in and hurt but not so large that they can't isolate the muscles) and this unit is very powerful. You can lean against it without so much as a slight slowdown of the rollers (most of the less expensive back massagers literally come to a stop if you lean into them too hard). It gives an exceptional massage -- better than my $200 shiatsu unit. You can easily move it around so it can get to other parts of your back - you aren't wrestling with a heavy unit. And, hopefully, the rollers won't cease to function in a few months like some of those massaging 'pillows' I've purchased (I've had THREE Homedics pillows where the inner foam got caught in the rollers within a few months - and the unit just stops). I also liked the fact that the Prosepra's power switch is on the cord and within easy reach -- many of these kneading massagers have the switch on the unit itself which means that after you've positioned the unit on your back you then have to turn around (unpositioning the unit!) to turn them on (that's poor design, to say the least). The Prospepra was definitely designed with the bad back patient in mind! And finally, the fact that it is small is a great benefit. If you want to keep it out on your couch, you don't have this large ugly unit sitting there when not in use - the Prospera just a small part leather pillow you can easily move off to the side and/or cover with other pillows. If you keep it at your office, it's easy to store inside your desk (the other kneading massagers are too large to put in a drawer). If you keep it in your car (it is small enough to use in the car!) it's easily stowed in the glove box. All in all, a perfect unit at a very good price. I will work this unit hard - I use it daily and lean against it hard to get a deep massage. Should it fail, I will update this review but meanwhile, it is clearly worth more than double the price they charge for it! Thanks Prospera for giving me a happy back!

this thing sucks. not only does the cord fairly easily fray ...

this thing sucks. not only does the cord fairly easily fray and ultimately fail, when it is working, the pressure is not all that impressive. To be fair though (and my reason for an extra star), I was looking for something MUCH stronger, something that you might even be able to lie on if using a bed and pillow(s) or some other similar setup. I don't quite remember how they advertise themselves, so maybe this would be good for someone looking for a very light touch (although remember the cord problem). Anyway, i was not impressed and just tossed it after it failed (which was two months later at most). Not something you want if you are looking for strong and deep muscle and myofacial relief.
