Love these things!

Usually I'm not a tech savvy or gadget-happy person who spends a lot of money on the latest technology. I tend to have my phones until I can't use them anymore and historically I have resorted to using the ear buds that come with my phones (which all suck, but were free). While I've always been frustrated with the fit of those pre-packaged ear buds (always falling out of my ears, sound quality was so poor I always had to max out my volume and become terrified of going deaf prematurely), I could never really justify dropping a load of money on ear buds after I spent several hundred dollars on a phone. Well, recently I bit the bullet and upgraded my phone to an HTC One. I work in an office environment and use my phone to listen to music and watch videos a lot when I'm cranking out my work. I liked that the phone had a great display and appreciated the speaker system. Since I use my ear buds at work all of the time I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade my ear buds to take advantage of the new phone's features and to block out the annoying office chatter while I'm working. I still didn't want to spend a lot on ear buds, so I read other reviews and decided to settle on the iLuv City Lights In-Ear Earphones with Ultra Base. I love these things. They do a decent job of blocking out background noise if I'm listening to something at a moderate volume level, but they don't block everything out so I don't feel like I'm completely separated from my office environment. Personally, I like that (I am at work, after all, and should be somewhat aware of my surroundings), but I can also tune myself out of the background noise if I want to just by turning the volume up a little bit. There were three different ear bud attachments to accommodate different ear sizes, so these things never fall out. Plus, those little ear attachments are firmly affixed to the ear bud, so I can pull my buds out pretty quickly without worrying those little attachments will separate from the rest of the ear piece. They sit nicely inside my ear. Some other reviewers complained that the bass boost was a little too "bass-ey", but I don't think that's the case. There is definitely bass, but I don't think it's "booming". Because the sound quality is so good I don't have to turn my volume all the way up anymore (unless I have a mini jam session to my favorite song), which alleviates some of my fears that I'll loose my hearing too early. Overall, these are a great buy, especially if you're looking to get something nice at a lower price point. I definitely recommend!

Did I get the wrong thing???
By TediousShopper on Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2014
I'm not sure what headphones others were reviewing but the ones I received are terrible. Granted...they were seven bucks, but with the glowing reviews I expected sound at least as good if not better than my standard stock earbuds. The package described a bass response no lower than 105. I wish I had read that prior to ordering. They sound tinny and empty. No bass whatsoever. One of the interchangeable ear forms did fit perfectly and they stayed in place securely. Too bad they sound so terrible. They may have been great for running or spin class.
