Sylvania 7" Portable DVD Player

This is a very nice little personal DVD player. I LOVE the handle! It comes in handy when watching movies in bed - I can grab it to reposition it, without hitting any buttons. And carry it with no fear of dropping it.So far, I've used it exclusively with the DC electric power charger attached, so I can't speak for life of the battery yet. It worked as soon as I plugged it in, without any charge time needed. There was a red light in the small dark window on the side, I think until the internal battery charged up. After about 4 hours it changed to light orange. Went off when unplugged.You CAN use it without the remote control! You use the buttons by the load door to access the Menu and select from the lists...Silver buttons on the Left side:Up Select / Chapter backDown Select / Chapter forwardLeft Select / RewindRight Select / Fast forwardStopOpenSilver buttons on the Right side:Volume +Volume -SetupMenuEnter (to enter your selection on the menu)PlayAs I show in my photos.I don't know why other reviews say you HAVE to use the remote, maybe they haven't discovered the full functions of the buttons ON the player yet.The volume goes up to 20. The speakers could be louder to use without headphones, but they're okay. Wouldn't be great in a noisy environment, though. But having good headphones attached is completely awesome - immersive stereo movie sound experience on volume 8, depending on your movie. I bought it in used/like new condition from Amazon Warehouse Deals, so not sure yet how the warranty would work.Originally had the option to add a 3 year warranty for $5.98 but it changed when I added it to my cart to $8.25, as shown in my photos. Not sure what Amazon was trying to do there, but I didn't buy it.
