highly recommended - pays for itself

this stone has become indispensable. pizza comes out crisp & perfect. clean up is a breeze. functionally it is super easy (with no possible messes) as of the handles to place a pizza into the oven - i always struggled placing it directly onto the rack. multiple uses - i have found it can be a hot plate (those are boiling working glasses of pickled ginger and in that picture i had cooked 3 pizzas already so one can see it cleans up like new).

Poor design - avoid

I love Emile Henry products and this particular product is no exception to their very high standards and quality. However, the handles on the side, which are both significantly higher than the platform base, prevent you from placing the pizza on the stone from that low angle that you need to, unless of course your peel is small enough to fit in between the handles, which mine is not. If your peel is wide enough to conflict with the handles, like mine, then this stone is not usable. UPDATE: i knocked both handles clean off with a hammer (leaving only jagged edges) and now I have a great pizza stone. They came off kind of clean FOR ME and may not for you, so you takes your chances. The stone was so usable for me with the raised handles that it didn't matter to me whether I ruined the stone or not.
