American Crew Shave Gel for Men

Altough I don't like any kind of shaving gels for shaving, I felt compelled to try this product out, because I've been a fan and an avid consumer of other American Crew products since 2007.I think this gel doesn't provide an excellent lubricous factor as I thought it would do. It seems to become less slippery as soon as it gets absorbed by the skin some minutes later after applying it, what is bad mainly if you are a kind of person who don't hurry with your shave and prefer to carry out your shave patiently as I do. When I'm in the middle of the shave I feel the need to reapply another amount more over the skin or to moisten the skin with a bit of water to leave it better lubricated, because it seems the razor no longer does glide so smooth as it did in the beginning of the shaving process.The good side. It has some nice and "skin-friendly" herbal ingredients which I think are very functional and healthy in a shave product such as: Pumpkin Seed Extract, Aloe Bardensis Leaf Juice, Peppermint Oil, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Grape Seed Oil, Nettle Extract, Camelia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Echinace Angustifolia Extract, Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract, Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract.But the bad side: it does contain Parabens.In comparison to the American Crew Moisturizing Shave Cream, it's similar in some aspects: it has a very pleasant scent (but a little weaker than the cream), it leaves a nice menthol cooling sensation over the skin and it also provides good moisturizing properties, that leaves the skin very well moisturized and smooth after the shave even if not applying an aftershave lotion or balm.I think the advantage of this gel over the cream is that it doesn't clog the razor so bad as the cream does. So my conclusion is the cream works better than the gel, but the gel is more convenient to use because it doesn't cause the nuisance that is spending tons of water while trying to unclog head of the razor, as happens when using the cream.In my opinion the performance of this product improves remarkably if it is used together with the American Crew Ultra-Gliding Shave Oil, applying the oil before it.I rate it three stars just because it's more convenient to use than the cream, that is such an annoyance with the clogging problem.
