Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge, 3 count

I bought these for a friend because I was staying at her apartment and the one she had was falling apart. This was the exact same brand as hers so I basically gave her 2 new ones for the one I had to throw out.They work well while they are intact, before they start to break down and fall apart. However, what i have learned recently because of the scientific articles that have come out is that these types of pads shed a great deal of microplastics into our water system as they break down. It is not the sponge side that is the problem so much as the abrasive side which is made of melamine.I use a different type of scouring pad that is made of mesh but now I'm wondering about that one too. Overall, I prefer regular sponges but unfortunately these scouring pads are here to stay. I just wish they made ones that did not harm our environment and ultimately our bodies.
