I had to buy it in a lighter color, but it works well.

My hair was thinning in a couple of areas and you could see the whiteness of the scalp and sometimes grays (when I was due to color my hair), so I used it to darken those spots. Word of caution, when you apply it, be careful where you lean your head on. What I do, is after I apply it, I wash the brush and comb so it doesn't stain and apply it when I'm going out not at bed time since I transferred the color to my pillow case. It didn't stain it, it came out with the wash, so I'm more cognizant of it now.

Wish More Shade Choices

I wanted to do 3 and a half. I was VERY excited about this product, as I am getting quite a bald spot on the crown/ back of my hair.I like the idea behind it and think that once I used it a few times would be better at applying it. No instructions came with it.My disappointment came with the color. I realize you are looking at a picture/representation of the color, but its a darker shade of auburn than it looks, in the picture. Wish there were more shade choices
