(3 Pack) AVALON ORGANICS Lavender Liquid Soap, 355 ML

What does it mean when you buy a product that you've purchased before, and you see the word "New" on the label? For many of us, this is a warning sign. Quite possibly, we understand, the manufacturer has found a way to produce the product more cheaply in hopes that consumers won't notice that its quality has declined.Unfortunately, this seems to be the case with Avalon Organics Lavender Hand Soap. I bought several bottles of this soap years ago and liked it--great sudsing and unique lavender aroma. Last month, I bought a five-pack assuming that the product was the same. The picture on Amazon's web site shows exactly the same label as appeared on my old bottles. When I received the new bottles, however, I noticed that the label announced that this was a "New, More Sustainable" version. The main difference seems to be that, whereas in the old version water was the second ingredient listed, now it is the first. This change is consistent with the way that the new soap feels. The luxurious thickness of the old is gone, having been replaced by a thinner and more watery product. Basically, they've watered this soap down. Also, the nozzle now clogs so that the newer, thinner soap sometimes squirts out in different directions.This is not a terrible product, but it's not very good. I give it one star for the cheapening of the product and the fact that the seller gives no indication that it has changed at all. I won't buy it again.
