Every Woot-Off, they come creeping. 76 units here. 19 units there. To the untrained eye, it’s impossible to tell one from the next. Like many of its equally boring brethren, the Vector VEC053 Maxx Pro 1200 Watt Power Inverter converts 12V DC power into a 110 AC current. This particular model offers three AC outlets and enough power (1200 watts continuous, 2500 watts peak) to run anything up to and including computers, TVs, microwave ovens, and refrigerators. And it’s got something called Soft Start technology, which we’re sure means something to somebody. Is that enough to make it interesting?

Of course not. The Vector VEC 053 is every bit as soul-numbing as its brandmates, sucking all joy and drama out of the Woot-Off the same way it sucks voltage from your car battery. You might be able to kill an individual inverter by shooting it in the head or driving a stake through its heart, but the only way to stop their march is to buy every single one.
