I don’t know, I like the cedar flavor but this plank is a little tough. Throw it back on there for a few minutes, I guess.

Gotta say, so far I don’t see what the big deal is. The TrueFire people say these Woot-branded Gourmet Cedar Grilling Planks produce moist, smoky cedar flavor. Once I was finally able to slice off a piece, I found out that that part is true. I just wish they’d warned me about getting all these splinters in my mouth.

Maybe I didn’t soak it long enough. Maybe the full three hours would soften it up a little more. All I know is, don’t bother trying to grill it with skewers. Sturdy as they are, there’s no way skewers can pierce that cedar wood.

Let’s see, is it any more tender yet? Hmm, OK, no. No, it’s not. And it’s slicing up my throat something awful. Hate to think what it’s going to do to my colon. Man, there’s gotta be an easier way to get more fiber in my diet. Still, it’s better than oat bran. You ever tasted that crap?
