Is that a printer in your pocket, or is there some other reason you’re wearing those ludicrously oversized pants? SiPix overstates the case when they dub their A6 model a “Pocket Printer”, but then coming up with names must not be their strength, or they wouldn’t be called SiPix. The fact remains that unless you have some sort of super-scientific shrink ray, this is the most printing functionality you can fit inside a briefcase, bike bag, or hollowed-out Bible.

Snap out your tape measure and see for yourself: a square 8 inches on each side and 3.5 inches deep. Of course, this precludes printing on normal-sized paper – you’ll have to locate 4 1/8” x 5 3/4” paper somewhere. Best of luck. But once you do, you’ll be cranking out the documents in whatever bus station, monastery, or methadone clinic you happen to find yourself in. It connects to your PDA, Pocket PC, laptop, or desktop through either wireless infrared or a 9-pin serial port. And you won’t have to deal with any icky ribbons or cartridges and risk smudging your nicest sweatpants – the SiPix A6 Pocket Printer uses (ahem) “advanced thermal technology” to make its etchings. If nothing else, SiPix proves that even small printers can carry large amounts of hyperbole.
