The GERA Estate is located in the Djimma region of Ethiopia at altitudes over 2,000 meters above sea level. This altitude combined with the nitrogen-rich plants and natural fertilizers used on the estate provide excellent growing conditions for specialty coffee. The Gera Estate thrives on principles of sustainability for both the farming environment and the people of the area. The estate provides housing, education, clean drinking water, electricity, health care, recreational facilities and more, free of charge for all employees. In addition to all of this, the coffee is exceptional. All coffees on the estate are shade grown and protected from pollution by enriching the soil with nitrogen-producing plants and natural fertilizer.
