Yes, we could tell you about the Pentax Optio's 16 megapixel sensor, the generous 18X zoom, or the large 3.0-inch LCD, but we'd like to use this space for something different. We'd like to clarify a few things about the face detection feature:
1. First off, just to repeat: it's face DETECTION, not face DETECTIVE. If you are seeking assistance with the disappearance of a face, or some other mysterious face-related crime, we suggest you hire a professional.
2. Yes, the camera can recognize faces for perfectly focused and exposed portraits, BUT only if the face itself is easily recognized as a face. If people are constantly confusing your face for a bonsai tree or an umbrella, the face detection may have a harder time picking it up.
3. Similarly, we are NOT giving refunds to anyone who "tricks" the camera into detecting a face where there isn't one. Please, show some respect for the device!
4. The Optio also features a dedicated pet recognition feature; however, using this on animals that do not belong to you does NOT make them your pets. It is simply a feature that helps you take the best pictures possible. It denotes no transference of ownership.
