It sounds good enough to eat!

As a person with extremely rare aural-gustatory synesthesia, nothing’s more important to me than the way my home entertainment system tastes. Uh, I mean sounds.

When I watch TV or movies, certain audio stimuli will trigger specific flavor sensations. For example, Reese Witherspoon’s voice tastes like Kraft singles, while the sound of lightsabers clashing together tastes like fettuccine alla carbonara. The theme song to JEOPARDY! tastes like green Skittles.

It’s essential, therefore, that I take great care in how my audio is delivered. I select only the best-performing speakers, for example, and I’m very particular about their placement in the room.

And of course, it goes without saying that I need speaker stands to get them up off the floor. Can you imagine? Tasting the deviled-egg flavor of Homer Simpson’s annoyed grunt off the floor? Yuck!
