Stephanie Singleton’s Diary
August 14 – So, just another Monday morning, right? Wrong! Yoplait in hand and hair still wet, I arrived at the office today to discover a bouquet of white roses on my desk! Oh my god! The card just said “Keep an ear out for me – Your Secret Admirer.” Just think about it: white…ear…they must be from HIM! The Logitech 970173-0403 Portable Speakers for iPod! Is it possible “Mr. L” knows how many hours I’ve spent admiring his clean, stylish design and daydreaming about his 3-inch pressue drivers and his 3D Stereo technology? Well, let’s just hope my guess is right! He’s compatible with iPod 3G, iPod mini, iPod 4G/U2, iPod color, iPod nano, and iPod video – but will he be compatible with me? I’m going to drop a hint about the flowers tomorrow and see if he picks it up.
August 15 – Hmph. Mr. L not in today. Jeanie in Accounts Receivable said he took a day off to go to the beach. He’s so portable!
August 16 – More puzzling signals. I happened to wander by Mr. L’s desk to ask him if he’d noticed the roses. He seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. Really, Mr. L? Or were you just being coy? I wish we could stop playing games and get to the real stuff. Still, even when he was denying everything, his voice was so strong and clear, so deep…the hunt must go on.
August 17 – Bad news, diary. After lunch Reed Jettley, one of the attorneys from upstairs, popped by to ask if I’d been able to print those reports he’d asked for yesterday…and if I liked the flowers he sent! So they weren’t from Mr. L after all! Reed hinted around about going out, but I wasn’t interested. What was he thinking – that just because he graduated from Harvard Law, drives a Maserati, and does a lot of modelling on the side, that I’d jump at the chance? Besides, he’s always so busy with his volunteer work at the children’s cancer ward. In the meantime, I’ll keep dreaming, scheming, and beaming over the one I really want. Let’s see: “Mrs. Logitech 970173-0403 Portable Speakers for iPod” has a nice ring to it, wouldn’t you say?
