Throw the rules out the window, it’s time to FREESTYLE!

Boy, Jim, in these Handyman Olympics we’ve seen some amazing performances, some absolute gut-checks by athletes at their pinnacle who are just perfect in form, but I have to say we’re about to start my favorite event of the games: Freestyle Multi-Tooling.

“You know, purists can harp about what this does or doesn’t do for the sport, but the simple fact remains that eliminating the requirements other events limit these athletes to really provide much more entertaining Multi-Tooling. You can’t argue that it’s not fun to watch, in my book.”

And up first is Amy Batson of Taffeltown, Michigan.

“This kid’s got a big future ahead of her.”

Absolutely. She’s using the Leatherman Freestyle CX Multi-Tool for this event.

Here comes her randomly-selected household task from the judges. Remember, she will be timed to complete her task and can use ONLY the tool she has selected, in this case Wire Cutters. No tool switching! It looks like her task will be…changing a light bulb!

“Oh…oh. This is going to be fun to watch.”
