Finally! I can DJ the way I want to DJ!

Yo, I hope y’all are ready to start dancing, because I’m just about ready to start spinning! But hey, first things first: before we get this party rolling, I just want to give you a fair warning that I do things a little bit differently than most DJs. Instead of dropping pulse-pounding drum-and-bass beats, I’m going to be using my ION Audio iCUE3 Discover DJ System to mix together the best between-song banter, mic checks, and other non-musical ephemera from my massive digitized collection of Supertramp concert bootlegs.

So get ready, because ya never know what’s coming. Maybe I’ll lay Roger Hodgson’s hilarious story about the pit stop they took in southern Pennsylvania over top of Rick Davies’s epic melodica sound check in East Wales. Or maybe I’ll just loop the false start to “Take the Long Way Home” until it becomes a song of its own. Or you never know, maybe I’ll get a little crazy and use the large, touch-sensitive scratch wheels to do a little remixing. Like, check this out:

Oh man, who knew musician-to-sound-guy chatter could be so fresh, amirite? But listen, fresh tracks is all I got, so get ready, y’all. Because we’re starting this off right: with the 1979 London crowd cheering encore for twenty minutes laid over top of a pretty sweet drum-check-loop!
