DLP: Darling Little Projector
By day, the seemingly mild-mannered InFocus LP120 DLP projector is a
well-respected member of the corporate community. At less than 2 pounds
and about the size of two standard computer mice, today's Willy Loman
will barely notice it among the other burdens in his battered leather
suitcase. But don't let its ultra-portability fool you – this boardroom
wonder delivers crisp, confident presentation graphics with 1000 max.
ANSI lumens and a native XGA resolution of 1024×768. And criminy, the
colors on this thing! It can distinguish between 16.7 million different
shades, one for each man, woman, and child in greater Delhi, India.
Deploy the LP120 and watch the promotions, new accounts, and accolades
roll in. We'd call it "The Salesman's Friend," if people still used
hokey terms like that with a straight face.
But after hours, the gray flannel comes off and the LP120 flaunts its
wild side. First and foremost, it gets along well with the Xbox 360,
which you can play at 1024×768 resolution (although you’ll need the
not-included 360 VGA cable). But that's only the tip of the LP120 iceberg.
Take it along to your next LAN gaming party for an experience that will
explode your everlovin' brain. Suspend it above your D&D table and
project your game maps onto the surface. Or simply project a 6' x 8' game of Tetris onto the side of your garage.
Back in the real world, the LP120 offers endless opportunities for
mischief and mirth. Drive your neighbor insane with nightmarish
Photoshopped images that flash briefly onto his bedroom walls at night.
Pin digital "kick me" signs to the backs of pedestrians. Use its
powerful 1000 lumens to temporarily blind referees at sporting events
you've bet heavily on. And when the cops show up, just stash this wee
unit in the nearest body cavity. "What projector, officer?" There's no
end to the fun you can have with the LP120, a little free time, and a
complete lack of respect for your fellow man. Just don't expect us to
visit you in the penitentiary.
Hey, though: we don't recommend this unit for video. It's kinda, like,
OK in a pinch, we guess…but not something we'd spend seven c-notes on
just for teevee watchin'. The LP120 is a stone righteous computer
graphics projector – using it to watch movies would be like Michael
Jordan trying to play baseball.
