The year was 1990. Johnny Depp was just finishing with television. Fox had a new hit show about a young boy on a skateboard who appeared on all of their merchandise. And a young man named Homer was still in elementary school, if we look at how his son is eight years old and how he got his wife pregnant right after… oh, now he went to college? And invented what? Really? Don’t they even have fact checkers any more? Well, they’ve certainly lost all credibility with me. I don’t think I can bear to look at this USB Simpsons Desk Lamp for a second longer. I don’t care if it is the iconic image of Homer just relaxing after a hard day of work or after trying to make a cow president of Mars or winning the Seventeenth Annual Shelbyville Drink-N-Jog’s Coveted Golden Donut or whatever he was doing that day. I don’t care if the neck of the lamp is flexible and it is USB powered so no batteries are required. If you can’t give me the hard-hitting reality of the first ten or so seasons, then I’m no longer interested. Would anyone here like to buy my lamp?
