If you ask me, Oregon Scientific is making a lot of promises this thermometer can’t keep. What good is the temperature readout and clock going to do when the whole unit will be vaporized the instant it gets anywhere near the surface of the sun?
The wireless transmission is 100 feet, which sounded like a lot until I realized that I literally don’t know anyone who lives within 100 feet of the sun. And the Ice Alert feature: seriously? Unless things are even worse than Al Gore thought, I have my doubts that solar ice is going to be a big problem anytime in the next billion years.
I guess I might be misunderstanding this whole thing. But no, I’m not.
