Let there be no mistake: GPX doesn’t make the Cadillac of MP3 players. It makes something more like the Honda of MP3 players—practical, functional, unlikely to turn heads, but priced so you won’t lay awake nights wracked with anxiety about its first parking-lot scratch. Among the Hondas of MP3 players, though, this one’s pretty nice. It might be the Buick LeSabre of Hondas of MP3 players. With a respectable 512MB of (lamentably unexpandable) memory, it’ll easily hold more than enough songs for your morning workout routine. It's battery life maxes out above ten hours of MP3s, WMA files, Audible files or other DRM media. That’s a lot of mallwalking, friend.

And hey, if slammin’ tuneage isn’t your bag, use it as a USB 2.0 thumb drive; we don’t care.

It’s not a bad-looking little gizmo, either, in restrained silver-and-black. Unfortunate, though, that it’s branded with the words “digital audio jukebox” on the side. What does that even mean? Name us another kind of “jukebox” besides “audio.” Maybe you can paste a “property of so-and-so” label over that. You have a labelmaker, right?

No? Hunh. Interesting.
