I don’t understand. I see people all over this place typing away on their little machines. Just because I’m being old school, you think you can pick on me? Some of the greatest works this world has ever seen were written on a typewriter, kid. If Hemingway didn’t need wireless internet, neither do I.
Take that thing. That’s the Gateway LT3103 Netbook, right? Yeah, I’ve read about those. Sharp high-definition 11.6 inch display, 2 Gigs of RAM, fancy multi-gesture touchpad and 5-in-1 media card reader, all with Wi-Fi certification and integrated 802.11b/g wireless. I’m sure that it’s all very nice for YOU and all your other patrons.
But, I, sir, am an artist. I do not require the HD audio and Dolby Headphone Technology. The symphony of creation that is the percussion of pounding keys, the melody of the bell, the zip of pieces of paper being fed one by one under the tumbler is the only music I need to perform feats of literary wonder. If all these patrons can deal with the distraction of flash games and social networking, I think they can deal with a little REAL typing.
