Superzonic
...And finally—as you know, here at the Weekly Head Rush Video Podcast, we had a technical setback last week when I passed out and came crashing to the floor, breaking my clavicle—and, more importantly, my webcam. So I’m trying out a new one. This is an Ezonics VGA Webcam and Microphone. And personally, I’m not crazy about it.
See, it has this “autoflip” feature, which is software that automatically rotates your image if your webcam is upside-down. And the whole point of my Weekly Head Rush Video Podcast, as you all know, is that I record it while hanging from my knees on the bedroom trapeze that I picked up used at my local adult novelty shop.
But my thing, see, is that I affix my webcam to my laptop, strap my laptop to my lap, and then I appear right-side up, except my face gets really, really red and my hair looks crazy. It’s my gimmick. It’s what sets me apart. Well, that and the decreasing coherence of my commentaries as the blood fills my brain.
But if this “autoflip” thing corrects the orientation of the image, won’t I look upside-down? I mean, I am, but not relative to the webcam. It’s like a double-flip-over, right? Man, this is hard to think about. Especially after hanging from my knees for fifteen minutes. I look upside-down on my own screen right now, but I’m looking at it upside-down, so maybe that’s right. Ooh, feeling woozy.
Anyway, I’m probably going to keep it, because it’s got some cool features. The USB dongle it came with works with my other Bluetooth-capable gizmos, like my phone and my PDA. And I can set it up right-side-up for use as a web-based security cam. So that’s… cool…
Whoa. My lips feel all heavy now from being upside-down. OK, I guess I should wrap up this edition of the Weekly Head Rush Video Podcast. Make sure to tune in next… Make… Be sure to… unnngh
(Crashing noise, screen goes black)
