Now That’s What I Call Good Eton
My motto is, always call dibs on the easy job. My co-workers will be scrambling to fill sandbags, or open cans of dehydrated horsemeat hash, or fight off feral dogs, looters, terrorists, and zombies. All I have to do is crank up the Eton Voicelink FR-1000.
Picture it: disaster! Calamity! Chaos! I spring into action. I’ll either turn the crank to power it up, or I’ll have thought to put fresh AA batteries in it, or charged it beforehand at an AC outlet – hey, anything’s possible. Either way, we’ll have access to AM/FM clock radio, seven NOAA weather bands, and two-way GMRS radio (which we’ll need a license to use – registration info is included). For more new-fashioned communication, it also includes a cell-phone charger (tips sold separately). The flashlight will help us find our way through the wreckage, while the siren will help our rescuers find us.
In marked contrast to how things usually are around here, I’ll be the hero of the hour. I’ll save the day while I’m just sitting there – and while everybody else is struggling to fight off the encroaching water or dogs or zombies or what-have-you.
Not struggling too much, though, I hope. As easy as it is to stay connected with the Eton Voicelink, it gets a lot more difficult after your brains have been devoured.
