Check this out: the other day we were talking to some old geezer – he musta been, like, 30, or maybe even 35. He told us that, once upon a time, people had to actually push vacuum cleaners around by hand! Oh, how we laughed. Everybody knows vacuum cleaners are little round robots that clean up the floor by themselves. But we found the old codger’s fantastical tales amusing, so we decided not to roll him for his Social Security check.

Looks like the joke’s on us. Turns out the Dyson DC07 Low Reach Upright Vacuum requires good old muscle power to move it across the floor – who knew? And perusing the specs, we think it might even do a better job than our trusty robot pal. 10,000 g of centrifugual force in the eight-section conical chamber? 270 air watts of suction? A 1-gallon collection cup? What is this, a vacuum cleaner or a Zamboni?

And that’s before we even get to stuff like the edge-cleaning bristles, 17-foot quick-release hose, and the low-reach floor tool that lets you clean hard-to-reach places like under sofas and beds. Looks like we owe that crusty old curmudgeon an apology, which we’ll deliver as soon as he thanks us for not mugging him.
