There are OTHER mixers out there, you know? Like this refurbished Cuisinart 5.5-Quart 12-Speed Stand Mixer. And I use it because I don’t need some “fancy” mixer with a big name behind it. This one’s just as good! It’s got three power ports for attachments, a slow start feature to keep from shooting a cloud of flour into the air I Love Lucy style, and a 15-minute countdown timer with auto shutoff in case, I don’t know, in case you go wandering off and forget you were making muffins or something.
It’s a mixer for REAL cooks. I like a mixer where the “brushed chrome” accents are actually just painted gray. I like a mixer where the customer service is so aggressively bad they might actually be mean on purpose. Hey, you only have to deal with ‘em if it breaks.
So you keep your fancy KitchenAid, along with your iPod and your MacBook. I’ll be right here mixin’ things with my Cuisinart and my Zune and my Dell.
