And you’re like “Why can’t you find the window, bat?” and that bat’s like “WHOA WHOA WHOA WHAT’S GOING ON” and then you have to get the broom? Well, that’s life in New Jersey, and that’s what these Bruce Springteen albums are all about.
That isn’t really an insult, you understand. It’s just that Jersey is sort of the little brother beside the biggest city in the world, so of course, it’s going to have a little bit of a complex. And, much like that bat, half the point of living in Jersey is trying to find a way to leave and make things better. Just pick any Springsteen song at random, from It’s Hard To Be A Saint In The City to his cover of Pink Cadillac and you’ll hear all about how something is wrong, and how it could be better if only we could get on the road and get the hell out of here.
