REALLY, AREN’T WE ALL BICAMERAL?
Of course my old camera was upset, at first. But we had a long talk, and I assured it that I wasn’t looking for a replacement. I just felt that I had more needs, more desires than one camera could fulfill. If I was a happier, more complete person, I’d actually be a better companion – and a better photographer. After a lot of talk and a lot of tears, we agreed that it was OK for us both to spend time with other partners as long as we stayed within very specific boundaries.
At first, I thought my dalliances with the Casio Exilim would just be an occasional thing. I’d have a little fun with the 4X Ultra-Wide optical zoom, explore that 14.1MP resolution, maybe even do some Face Detection or try some Dynamic Photo animated e-greetings if we were feeling really wild, and then go back to my old camera. I refused to admit to myself that every time I set the Casio EX-Z800 down, parting with it got harder and harder.
Meanwhile, my old camera was having a tough time finding someone. I tried lending it out to some of my friends, but either they weren’t interested or they were so interested it creeped my camera out. We thought about posting a Craigslist ad, but that fell apart when we couldn’t decide whether it should be under “Casual Encounters” or “Photo & Video.”
Those kinds of arguments were unfortunately becoming more and more common. I realize now that I should have been more understanding and emotionally generous about what my old camera was going through. But every time it would start complaining about how unwanted and obsolete it felt, I would ache to run back to my carefree, hi-res Casio.
Then, one night, I crossed the line. Our agreement said that video was reserved just for me and my old camera, and I had abided by the rule thus far. But when the Casio Exilim asked me in the heat of intimacy if I wanted to shoot some HD video, I gave in to temptation. It was incredible. Afterward, reflecting on how my old camera just wasn’t equipped to give me the 720p resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio that had taken me to new heights of digital pleasure, I knew it was time to end that relationship.
My old camera couldn’t have been surprised, but it was angry. I just sat there and absorbed its rage. I still loved it enough that I hated to hurt it, but I had to be honest about what I wanted. And I have to admit, breaking up was easy because I knew that the Casio Exilim EX-Z800 was waiting for me.
We’ve been together ever since. Not only are we still together, but the relationship has only gotten deeper – lately we’ve been experimenting with YouTube Capture Mode, which I’ve never felt comfortable enough to do with any other camera. My polycamery period didn’t last long, but it did teach me the importance of being true to my desires. And what I desire more than anything is many, many years with the Casio Exilim.
What? No, you can’t “borrow” it! That’s disgusting! You’re talking about the camera I love!
Features
Warranty: 1 Year Casio
Condition: New
Features:
- The Casio EX-Z800 boasts 14.1 Megapixels as well as with 4X Ultra-Wide Zoom (27mm) lens including a Single Frame SR Zoom that extends the zoom range 1.5 times
- An ultra wide angle 27mm lens reaching to 108mm allows a wide range of capture options. An Ultra-Wide angle lens allows for capture of grand vistas, or confined interior shots with not much room to maneuver. Its 4X Optical Zoom, 6X Single SR Zoom and anti-shake provides that extra extended reach and versatility when needed
- Premium Auto enables the camera to automatically analyze the scene being photographed – including distinguishing night scenes, back lighting, a blue sky, green trees or a sunset – as well as sensing whether there is a face in the frame, the movement and position of the subject, and whether a tripod is being used. It simultaneously optimizes settings for exposure, ISO, sensitivity, focus location, photo blur correction, tonal range and color balance, and level of noise reduction
- With Face Detection, this camera adjusts instantly for optimum focus and background even if your subject is backlit or in front of a patterned backdrop. Moving targets? No problem. The camera will capture kids and pets on the go in the sharpest detail
- Dynamic Photo animated e-greetings place your subject on any background. Thanks to the high-speed image processing capability of the new engine, a moving subject can be cut out of a number of images that have been shot and combined with a different still shot that forms the background. A unique digital camera image where only the main subject in the photo is moving can be created using just the camera, with no editing on a computer
- Art Shot makes use of the image processing technology in the Exilim Engine 5.0 to create photos for scenery or human subjects that have the feel of a painting. The view in the LCD screen of the subject in front of the user can be switched between and oil painting, a crayon drawing, or a watercolor picture, allowing the user to select the preferred art style in which to photograph the scene
- CCD Stabilization steadies the image mechanically during recording whenever camera movement is detected. Images come out crisp and clear, even under conditions that are prone to camera movement
- Make-Up Mode can make adjustments to smooth skin in images and soften facial shadows caused by sunlight, creating beautiful photographs of people’s faces. The photographer can choose from one of twelve levels of skin beauty using different strengths of image processing, and can shoot after viewing the results in the LCD monitor
- Landscape Mode captures beautiful scenic photography. Unlike earlier landscape photography modes, which enhance the saturation of an entire hue, users can now select between the Vivid Landscape option that uses image analysis to determine and vividly enhance only the most important colors in the landscape or the Mist Removal option that makes weather-affected misty scenes look clear and bright
- 720p HD video and a dedicated movie button make shooting high-quality videos quick and simple just by pressing the movie button. Widescreen movies can be recorded with an aspect ratio of 16:9
- YouTube™ Capture Mode allows you to easily share your memories with family and friends because it records and saves movies at the ideal settings for uploading to YouTube™
- One-Button Video makes it very easy for you to switch back and forth between still and video modes to capture the perfect moment
