Man, it feels great to get my Valentine’s Day shopping done so early this year.

No more rushing around to every florist in town in search of the last available rose. No more setting out to buy a really nice box of candy and settling instead for a bag of pink and red circus peanuts. Nope, for V-Day 2010 I’ll present my ladylove the Bushnell Onix 200 GPS.

She’ll feel my undying devotion in every pixel of its 320×240 LCD screen. When she downloads topographical maps and satellite photos from the Bushnell site, then lays up to 20 of them over the U.S. and Canada base maps, it’ll remind her of the way we came together from the most unlikely places. I’m just glad her Oprah book club agreed to participate in that pen-pal program with my prison. And I’m glad the authorities still hadn’t learned to thoroughly inspect every cake that enters the premises.

We’re still together after all that time, and with the Bushnell Onix 200 GPS, I can be reasonably sure we still will be on February 15. And I’ve got weeks to chillax, content in the knowledge that my shopping is done. Yeah, guess I’ve turned into one of “those people”, shaking my head in disapproval at everybody who doesn’t buy their holiday gifts until it’s too late. What kind of loser does that?
