Saints' legendary Quarterback Archie Manning has personally hand-signed this 1971 Saints White Jersey-Archie Manning, one of the greatest quarterbacks in New Orleans Saints? history, played ten seasons with the team during the days of the loveable losers. At a time when the team was jokingly referred to as the ?Aints," Manning was one of the few bright spots. Only once in his career did the Saints finish .500, which was the only season they finished higher than third in their division. However, because Manning played in a time before free agency, he was good enough to keep his team from the top talent in the NFL Draft, but could not take his team to the next level with the supporting cast. Despite his team, he managed to make it to the Pro Bowl in 1978 and 1979. Manning finished his career with the Minnesota Vikings after two seasons with the Houston Oilers. Since 1982, when Archie left the organization, no New Orleans Saint has worn the number eight, and it is commonly understood that no future player will, although his number has not officially been retired. This Archie Manning Autograph is guaranteed authentic and includes a Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity and an accompanying tamper-evident Steiner Hologram.
