Look carefully: This is not your grandfather’s iPod Nano. Unless he bought it for you as a conditional gift, with the stipulation that you maintain a B average or better this year, which you failed to do. In that case, under legal rules of property, he’d have a reasonably strong claim on it. But first of all, it serves you right when you consider all the time you spent on Chatroulette instead of studying—and second of all, we’re way off the subject here: We meant to be talking about how this fifth-generation iPod Nano has an onboard video camera and FM tuner. Unlike every iPod Nano we’ve ever sold here.
Its eight-gig flash drive holds up to two thousand songs if you assume they’re four-minute songs saved at 128 Kbps. If all you listen to is the Ramones, you could probably double that. It’s just too bad there aren’t four thousand Ramones songs. For one thing, then maybe every arena in North America wouldn’t have to rely exclusively on “Blitzkrieg Bop” to get the crowd going. It’s a good song and all, but come on, let’s mix it up a little, you know? Steak au poivre is a good meal too, but you don’t want it three times daily.
The FM tuner has live pause and iTunes tagging capabilities to make listening to the radio… uh, more like listening to mp3s, we suppose. And there’s a pedometer too, to help you keep track of how your fitness program’s going. Or if fitness isn’t your thing, maybe you can just use it to find out how far you’d go if you took all your trips through the buffet for seconds and thirds and fourths, straightened them out, and laid them end-to-end.
Yeah, you almost can’t go wrong with this Nano. Mind you, we said “almost.”
Be warned: The color of your iPod Nano says something about you. Lucky for you, silver, purple, pink, orange, green, black and blue all say really complimentary stuff, so those are the only colors we’re making available.
Red and yellow are only available in Apple stores, so they say “I sometimes go to Apple stores.” Not a message you really want to send. Once again, Woot shoves you out of the line of fire, just as a bullet of high caliber social awkwardness whizzes by! You’re welcome.
