Alexander the Great (356BC-323BC) is perhaps the greatest military general of all time, with his conquests extending from Greece to India. Although his empire was short lived, his legacy was to extend Greek culture to the whole of the then civilized world. Was his legacy inspired by the Gordian Knot?
