A classic rectangle shape created from handmade acetate, inset with sophisticated metal temple detail inspired by Tumi's famous ballistic nylon. With a custom double hinge construction, the classic Tumi logo is slightly raised on the temple, creating aerodynamic lines and brand identification. The temples feature "rings of Saturn" temple tips: cast metal with two rubber rings for style and grip.  This frame, like the entire collection of sunglasses, is fitted with a custom Zeiss ZR3 CR39 lens.

Carbon Fiber

TUMI’s carbon fiber is a strong, ultra-light and expensive composite material, a fiber-reinforced polymer. Similar to fiberglass (glass-reinforced polymer), it has many applications in the aerospace and automotive fields. Our carbon fiber temples are made of five layers of carbon “fabric,” produced under extremely high pressure to create a solid sheet that is then cut into the desired shape.
