Every week in this space, we’ll take a look at the news and offer our own incisive blend of commentary, analysis, and poop jokes. The news you need, from a voice you can trust, in the 90 seconds you have to spare: that’s Woot Weads the Wire.

CAMBRIDGE, England (UPI) -- "Sonified" data from experiments at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland makes it possible to "hear" the newly discovered Higgs boson, researchers say.

The tune is described as charming and strange from top to bottom.

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (UPI) -- A six-foot-long Nile monitor lizard escaped its enclosure and was on the loose in Teller County, Colo., police said Tuesday.

Police are warning anyone with a monitor 72" or larger to place a small fence or hire a guard.

ORLANDO, Fla. (UPI) -- An agenda that blends the compassionate conservatism of former U.S. President George W. Bush with technology is being pushed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Culture experts are already describing it as steampunk for rich white guys.

(UPI) The United States has been handed a dose of European medicine as the International Monetary Fund advised the government to raise its debt ceiling soon.

The U.S. retorted that the IMF was ruining its life, and all the other countries had debt ceilings that were much lower cut, but the IMF said it wasn't having the U.S. going out looking like a prostitute, leading the U.S. to storm off in a huff and slam its door.
