Um, wow, I just paid a lot more for two new ones. You need a license for GMRS, but not for FRS. FRS should be good for about half a mile.
Do these communicate into the future, if so I'll buy them so that I won't miss yet another Bad Old Cinema

I got these some time back,and they have great range,and are clear as a bell.Great when you are camping.
Might pick up a pair for use on our next cruise rather than renting them from the cruise ship. With as big as the ships are getting, it seems like a good idea.
I have a set of these and great for deer hunting.
I would rather buy two tin cans with a piece of string i would get better range .

bought one. had cobra brand in the past and they were great, lasted for years and had great range. hope these are the same

The eight rechargeable NiMH batteries alone are worth close to $20. This is a sweet pickup. I had the misfortune of buying batteries away from woot. :-(

I would never have thought of using them on a cruise ship, but that's a really good idea if you have a big group.

In For 1, It has NOAA weather Radio
Thinking of getting a set of these for a cruise to keep in touch with the kiddos while on the ship. Something tells me these wimpy radios won't work through all of the steel. Anyone have experience with these or any other brand on a cruise ship?
