What an amazing coincidence that the worst theme songs belong to some of the worst cartoons ever. Who would have thought that a complete lack of quality animation and writing would be accompanied by horrible music? Also, I just have to ask, Street Sharks? Really?

Possibly as best songs ever, that andInspector Gadget, Ducktails, and Darkwing Duck, I still hum those songs to myself on a bi-weekly basis.

I mean let's get dangerous that was a hell of a catchphrase and totally appropriate for the age group.

FYI, Kimba (1966) came long before The Lion King (1993). And The Lion King ripped off immensely from Kimba in more ways than just music.

Just sayin.

Up from the depths. 30 stories high.
Breathing fire. His head in the sky.
Godzilla Godzilla Godzilla...

I dunno if those were the worst or the best.. I am still nostalgic about all those shows...or at least remember the themesong fondly! ( 10-15 years later)

The Shazam cartoon theme "song" was pretty awful too.

We’re not particularly talented, we just try hard.

Did Jack Black sing the Extreme Dinosaurs song? Cause if not, he should definitely do a cover. It would be pretty extreme.

Good list, thanks for the memories. If there was a part 4, it would have to feature the theme from "Bucky O'Hare." Maybe "Denver the Last Dinosaur" too.

You know, it's funny as The Get Along Gang actually featured music by John Sebastian (of the Lovin' Spoonful and Welcome Back Kotter fame) so at least they had SOME decent music.

I did enjoy the show as a kid. I wanted to find an abandoned caboose to use as a clubhouse.

You guys need to definitely showcase the intro to 'King Arthur and the Knights of Justice!'

What could be more awesome than a retold story of King Arthur with 80's hair metal as the opening theme song?

I'd have to say nomination for best- the XMen theme song. Er....we all know which one. There were three that I know of. One sucked (they sang "Xmen, XMen- coming your way/ Magneto's forces on the prowl/to pillage, snuffleupagus and plunder"). One was a straightforward, awesome guitar, and the third was a guitar doing some crazy stuff. The last was okay, but we all know the good one.

Oh and the intro music to Batman: The Animated Series. Also awesome. During the commercials they used to play In The Hall of the Mountain King tho, which was odd.

Am I really THAT much older than the Woot blog staff? I get the distinct impression that most of these cartoons were after my time (or just so awful that I never watched them). Out of the whole bunch, the only two I even recognized were the Hair Bear Bunch and the Get Along Gang.

Hey now, the Wildcats comic is great.

The cartoon was stinky rotten scaffolding.
