Mine got here fine, but it doesn't do black and white movies in a dark room very well. Lots of blue and brown. Great deal for a computer monitor, and UP on Blu-ray looked AMAZING.

Mine arrived yesterday. I hooked it up to my macbook pro with HDMI and the 1920x1080 (interlaced) resolution looks like very, very bad. It makes my eyes hurt...and I don't see any options to turn off the interlacing. Is that res only good for TV output?

Anyone else have this issue?

The only res I can get it looking okay on it 1600x900, which is a poor alternative considering the size of the monitor.

After a while after setting it up, I started hearing a clicking noise. Online I found this:
http://www.5starsupport.com/faq/monitor.htm#6-1 - see "The monitor has started making a strange noise:". As it states, you need to install the correct driver for this. I downloaded the driver for the HP (search for HP w2338h), but this did not work immediately. I then opened the monitor properties dialog (deep under display settings) and selected Update Driver... This either found the driver I had just installed, or MS found one on the web for me. No more clicking noise. Hope it sticks - it was really irritating.

Got mine! Plugged into my dvd recorder with HDMI - at first had no sound, then changed the sound settings on my dvd recorder (turned off DTS and dig surround options) and got sound. Only problem now, the sound leaps into the vacuum and it is not very loud. It still does what I'd hoped it would do, I'll just need a different sound source. The picture looks "good" but not great with DVD, and using it as a monitor, it didn't fill the screen like it does with my LCD TV when I use it as a monitor...played with the settings a little but didn't make much difference.

All-in-all you get what you pay for, sometimes a little bit less. I've been wanting a bigger moniter for some time now and I have no regrets...yet...

Hooked my PS3 up to this and it looks great. For audio, I'm just running composite cable from the back of the PS3 into the audio source. It's only 2.1 though. I actually have a 7.1 with an auxiliary input and have a red/white female to 3.5mm male converter. Only thing is that the audio comes out 2.1 from that too. Not sure what I should do to get 7.1

Got mine last night. Running with a DVI to HDMI cable and works perfectly.

No dead pixels. No issues.

The swivel pad on the bottom makes the monitor turn very easily. Almost too easily, but not really a problem.

Arrived with the base in a bizarre position. Can't figure out how to release it. Went to HP's website and their instructions are of no help as they ship them in a different configuration.

Woot Customer Service is USELESS - they tell me to contact the mfg. Why would HP help me if I didn't buy it from them (it's de-branded, Hello!!!)

How did you unscrew the base?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by unscrew.

The base was in a folded position out of the box. I just pulled on it to unfold it.

Nancy,
The base is folded and I know it feels like it is locked but just put a little strength into it and you will find it moves quite easily after that. I was also worried about breaking the base at first, but it is just folded.

I received the two I ordered, but one has a large (about 4" by 4") blob-shaped discolored area in the upper right corner. White and gray look yellow-tinted in this area. I've emailed service@woot. We'll see what they say...

Luno, do you have any sources of magnetic/electric power near that area? Speakers, power cables, plugs? It sounds like classic magnetic interference.

Or your monitor could be scaffolding.

Mine arrived and works great by itself (not even a dead pixel, near as I can tell), but goes to sleep as soon as I try to hook up a second monitor (HP vs17) to my Radeon 4670 HD. Switching the inputs doesn't fix the problem, and all my drivers are up to date (Windows 7 64-bit).

Anyone else have this problem? I would like to run a multi-monitor set-up!

Got mine a week ago (2). I've only set up one (it's hooked up to the xbox 360). A couple days ago, a red vertical line appeared on the right side of the screen. Kind of annoyed me, so I've been trying to see if I can get HP to work with me. No dice so far. In the mean time, there are more lines of multiple colors. I'll probably be emailing Woot's warranty service pretty quick if HP dead ends (probably will since there is no HP warranty).

I've played with the settings, but my color is still way out of wack. Can someone post what settings you're using? I can get either a red tint or a blue tint to everything. It's ridiculous.

Same thing just happened to me. :/

Does anyone know the easiest way to have this hooked up to a PS3 (or Xbox360) through the single HDMI port while also getting the audio to come through the computer speakers and not the built-in speakers? Is getting a sound card that has optical on it (connected directly to the console) my only choice? ... hoping there's an easier way to do this, but I couldn't figure it out through the menu settings or anything. Any help is much appreciated... thanks!

[quote postid="3560976" user="jkbc"][quote postid="3560393" user="paintballkev812"]Here's a little info about the LCD(I'm sure most of this has been posted throuhout the last four pages but...)
1. This monitor has HDMI and it looks like it has HDCP also, therefor it can be connected to anything that sends a signal out through HDMI(xbox 360, satellite boxes, cable boxes etc)

You're not wrong here, but I do want to point something out. HDCP is a digital rights management (DRM) standard applied to HDMI connections. You don't need HDCP to connect HDMI, you only need HDCP to send a protected 1080p stream to the monitor. At the distance you'll be viewing this monitor at, you're not going to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. Thought I'd note that for folks comparison shopping that might see HDCP as a barrier.

I would be careful assuming this will work as a TV. Connecting my monitor to our Bluray player, I couldn't get the picture to display because the monitor didn't support HDCP. If it doesn't say HDCP in the specs, I certainly wouldn't assume it supports it. If this were advertised as a 23" 1080p *HDTV* then, yes, it absolutely would have the support. But it still may not have a tuner! If it says it has a tuner, then yes. I've just seen a lot of misinformation tossed around today with people saying all TVs have tuners.
